The UCW would like to thank all those who participated in their Christmas Lights Service. We hope that the service was as meaningful to you as it was to us. Together we raised $4,125 for the work of the UCW and the Church. The UCW has made a donation to the Foster Child Fund with thanks to all those who supported them throughout the year. For their support – Rev. Ian & Rev. Faith; for their gifts of music – Peter and Melissa; for administration support – Christina; for their help in getting the UCW messages out via Constant Contacts and the Website – Susan and Kyle; and last but not least the Men’s Club (UCW Auxiliary) for assisting whenever we needed it. GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP HERE AT FIRST UNITED: Grief is a normal emotional response to significant loss that many of us experience when times are hard or we have had a significant loss. Have you been dealing with this emotion recently? Come and join us for a chat, a coffee and a listening ear here at First United. Sometimes it is very difficult to talk about how grief has affected us and lingers in our hearts. Next meeting will be held in January, date to be announced.
FOOD BANK SUNDAY: The first Sunday of the month is designated as Food Bank Sunday. Envelopes are available on the table in foyer.
BUILDING FUND SUNDAY: The last Sunday of the month is designated as Building Fund Sunday. Envelopes are available on the table in foyer. if you would like to make a contribution. Thank you for your continued support.
RECYCLABLES?
Our Youth Group collects beverage containers for recycling. If you would like to drop off your beverage recycling at the church, here’s what can be recycled: aluminum can; plastic containers; glass bottles; steel cans; drink boxes (tetra); mini sips (drink pouches) etc. (Please wash out all bottles and remove all caps before dropping them off.) This is a great fund raiser for the youth and the Youth Group thanks you for your support.
WEEKLY BULLETIN DEDICATIONS: Now that we have resumed printing bulletins, you may dedicate a bulletin in memory of a loved one or in celebration of a special event. If you would like to do so, please put your name and phone number for a specific date on the sign-up sheet located on the bulletin board in the vestibule or call the church office at 368-2194.
Property Committee Roof Report – As some of you know, the church roof shingles were in very poor condition. In fact, we’ve been trying for the last two years to have them replaced. Finally, on August 2nd and 3rd, the shingles were replaced. The completed project had at cost of $31,000 or $250 per bundle of shingles. If you would like to help “keep the roof over our heads”, please consider donating a bundle or part bundle of shingles. All contributions, regardless of size, are graciously appreciated.

PEACE GARDEN UPDATE: To date the Peace Pole, all stones and benches have been donated. The updated total figure for the Peace Garden sits at $11,456.42. Our goal figure is $27,000.
